Ars Electronica 2022 - „WELCOME TO PLANET B – A different life is possible! But how?" 7. bis 11. September 2022 in Linz

Unter dem Titel "Welcome to Planet B - Ein anderes Leben ist möglich! Aber wie?" steht das Programm des Ars Electronica Festivals in Linz wieder im Mittelpunkt. Das zentrale Thema der 5-tägigen Inszenierung von "Planet B" lädt zu einem reizvollen Gedankenexperiment ein: Was wäre, wenn wir die großen Herausforderungen des 21. Jahrhunderts bereits gemeistert hätten?
Wie würden wir dann (zusammen) leben und was würde diese Gesellschaft prägen? Und last but not least: Wie hätte unser Weg dorthin ausgesehen? Welchen politischen, sozialen, kulturellen und technologischen Wandel hätten wir wie vorangetrieben? An zahlreichen Orten und in unterschiedlichen Formaten wie Ausstellungen, Symposien, Workshops, Interventionen und Konzerten werden Künstler, Forscher und Aktivisten mit ihren jeweiligen Mitteln und Methoden skizzieren, wie wir diese Transformationsprozesse gestalten können.

Am 10. September veranstaltet Ars Electronica die Creative Europe geförderte Projektkonferenz Studiotopia – Co-creating Sustainable Futures through Culture die sich mit der Rolle von Kulturorganisationen und Kulturakteuren bei der Bewältigung der Klimakrise und ihrer Folgen und der Veränderung unserer Handlungen und Verhaltensweisen beschäftigt. Unter the title "Welcome to Planet B – A different life is possible! But how?“ the programme of the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz will once again take centre stage. The central theme of the 5-day production of "Planet B" invites you to a delightful thought experiment: What if we had already mastered the great challenges of the 21st century? How would we then live (together) and what would characterize this society? And last but not least: What would our path there have looked like? What political, social, cultural and technological transformation would we have driven and how?

At numerous venues and in a variety of formats such as exhibitions, symposia, workshops, interventions and concerts, artists, researchers and activits will use their respective means and methods to outline how we can shape our world in a sustainable way.

On 10 September 2022 Ars Electronica hosts the conference „Studiotopia – Co-creating Sustainable Futures through Culture“, a European initiative, co-funded by the Creative Europe program focusing on the role of cultural organisations and cultural actors in addressing the climate crisis, coping with its consequences and changing our actions and behaviours.
