Veranstaltungsort: Online

Veranstalter: Europäische Kommission in Kooperation mit Goethe Institut

We are delighted to invite you to the official launch of Culture Moves Europe. Ms Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner in charge of Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, will launch the action in the presence of other representatives of the European Institutions and the Cultural and Creative Sectors.
Culture Moves Europe is the new permanent European mobility scheme for artists and cultural professionals, funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut. It will offer grants to artists, cultural professionals and host organisations in all Creative Europe countries and cover the sectors of music, literary translation, architecture, cultural heritage, design, fashion, visual arts and performing arts. Based on the successful i-Portunus pilot project, the scheme will foster sustainable and inclusive mobility and give particular attention to emerging creators.

The hybrid launch event will take place on Monday, 10 October 2022, from 16:00 until 18:00 CEST. You are kindly invited to join us online and participate in the discussion through our online event platform.

A keynote speech by Commissioner Mariya Gabriel will be followed by a high-level exchange between Sabine Verheyen MEP, Chair of the Committee on Culture and Education and Johannes Ebert, Secretary General of Goethe-Institut, as well as a panel discussion on “Supporting the Mobility of Emerging Artists” with representatives of the cultural sector.
  • What are the core priorities for the implementation of Culture Moves Europe?
  • What are the challenges that emerging artists face and what specific support do they need with regard to funding and opportunities?
  • What is the role of host organisations in supporting emerging artists?
  • Personal stories of former i-Portunus grantees – how has the programme changed their careers?
See attachment for the full programme. The event will be held in English.
